Mandate

 

The University of the Western Cape is the only university in the Western Cape which offers a qualification in Pharmacy ranging from a bachelors to a masters degree.

 

Pharmacists have a responsibility to play meaningful roles in the healthcare of the people they serve. They do this through placing an emphasis on the rational use of medicines and related products. There is  an acute shortage of subsequently a great need for pharmacists in South Africa. A BPharm qualification can lead to various opportunities globally.

 

UWCAPS is the official student body for UWC pharmacy students. UWCAPS is involved in everything from charity drives, to drug information programs, social gatherings such as sports days and braais. We also act as a bridge between the students and the department. UWCAPS has a rich history extending over many years.
