About Us

The South African Pharmaceutical Students Federation, hereafter referred to as the SAPSF is a united student body that serves the interests of pharmacy students and promotes the pharmacy profession by working towards a common goal of quality healthcare for all.

In fulfilling its mission, the SAPSF is committed to:

• Uniting pharmacy students by providing a leadership base, addressing student's issues, and improving their status and recognition within the healthcare structure

• Promoting health and improving healthcare

• Professional competence and the development of confidence through continuing education

• Provision of health care and community services

• Providing health care fairly and equally to all South Africans

The SAPSF consists of nine branches:

• Port Elizabeth Pharmacy Students Association (PEPSA)

• Rhodes University Pharmacy Students Association (RUPSA)

• Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University Association of Pharmacy Students (SMUAPS)

• Tshwane University of Technology Association of Pharmacy Students (TUTAPS)

• University of Limpopo Association of Pharmacy Students (ULAPS)

• University of KZN Association of Pharmacy Students (UKNAPS)

• University of the Western Cape Association of Pharmacy Students (UWCAPS)

• Witwatersrand Pharmacy Students Council (WPSC)

The SAPSF was founded in 1953, and it forms one of the major united national health science organizations with the objective of strengthening the pharmacy profession from a student-centered perspective.

The federation holds an annual conference that affords all pharmacy students the opportunity to identify, debate, and find resolutions to issues concerning the pharmacy profession.
